Harvest Covenant Lions
Athletic Philosophy

At Harvest Covenant we are not just training up elite athletes for the field, we are raising up warriors of the faith for The Kingdom.

Our identity is in Christ alone. While we are athletes, we serve God first. Before we are Lions, we are called to be disciples of Christ. On the field and everywhere we go, we are called to be examples of Jesus Christ, displaying the fruits of His Spirit. At every practice and every game, Harvest Covenant athletes will be armed not only with the physical strength, conditioning, and techniques of elite athletes but will be transformed by the washing of His Word and armed with the sword of His Holy Spirit.

4 PILLARS OF A LION:

1. Strength

At Harvest Covenant, athletes will receive professional strength training and conditioning designed by elite athletes. Yet, while physical strength has value, godliness is our first priority. Harvest Covenant Lions know that our true STRENGTH comes from the Lord, and in our weakness, His strength is made perfect.

2. Courage

Harvest Covenant athletes are encouraged to demonstrate courage on and off the field. God’s courage is displayed in many ways, and this pillar will be deeply understood by our athletes as a necessity to succeed in Christ.

3. Honor

Harvest Covenant Lions are expected to love and honor one another not only as teammates but as BROTHERS IN CHRIST. Whether with teammates or opponents, we will always play and serve with honor, respect, and the love of Jesus.

4. Truth

Harvest Covenant athletes are expected to play, train, and behave according to the rules, always serving as examples of honesty and truth in all things.

Always Striving for Victory

Harvest Covenant athletes know that our victory is in Jesus. We strive to serve with His discipline, perseverance, and self-control. On and off the field, in victory and in defeat, Harvest Covenant Lions will exemplify Jesus through their sportsmanship and brotherly love. We will keep the faith, learn from our mistakes, fight the good fight, and finish the race.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Matthew 5:14

“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

1 Timothy 4:8

For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Joshua 1:9

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Romans 12:9

Let love be without hypocrisy. Hate what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another

2 Timothy 4:7

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Galatians 6:9

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
